OpenShot is a free and open-source video editor for Linux based Operating system like Ubuntu . It come under under the GPL licensed version 3.0 & built with Python, GTK, and the MLT Framework.
OpenShot can import your favorite videos, photos, and music files and help you to create the film that you have always dreamed of. Easily add sub-titles, transitions, and effects, and then export your film to DVD, YouTube, Vimeo, Xbox 360, and many other common formats.

Installation of OpenShot in Ubuntu
Open the terminal type below command
# apt-get install openshot openshot-doc
