How to Set Legacy Bios in HP ProLiant GEN9 Server
In HP ProLiant Gen9 Servers by default boot mode is UEFI, but there are some scenarios where to you want switch from UEFI Bios to Legacy Bios in HP ProLiant Gen9 servers. This can be easily achieved by making the changes from ILO Console.
Refer the beneath steps:
Step1: Access the ILO Console.
In HP ProLiant Gen9 Server ILO version is 4. Enter the Credentials as per your setup and then click on Login
Step:2 Select the Virtual Media and then Boot Order
Select the Legacy Bios and Click on Apply and it will ask to reset the server. These changes will only be applied only when we reset the server.
Got to Power Management -> Server -> Click on Reset
Step:3 Verify the server whether it is booted with Legacy Bios.
Reboot the server and check the post message whether the server is booted with Legacy bios.
As we can see the Server’s Boot Mode is “Legacy Bios“. This is permanent now, in case you want to revert the changes you need to repeat above steps and select UEFI option in step2.
That’s all. Hope you like the steps.
