Overview :
ChromiumOS is a lightweight, lightning-fast operating system from Google for your netbook, laptop or even desktop. With the familiar environment of Chromium/Chrome, the entire web is at your fingertips in seconds. In this tutorial we are using unofficial Chromium OS builds and do not represent the full Chrome OS experience and also Do NOT automatically update, you’ll need to download a new build regularly if you wish to update & Do NOT include Flash, Java or the Google Voice/Video plugin for licensing reasons.
Follow the below Steps To Run Google Chrome OS in VirtualBox Virtual Machine, we are assuming Virtualbox Software is installed on Your Laptop or Desktop .
Step:1 First Download the Virtual box image for Chromium OS.
Use the url : http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/
Step:2 Unzip the downloaded file , as in my case I am using Ubuntu Linux
# unzip ChromeOS-Vanilla-4028.0.2013_04_20_1810-r706c4144-VirtualBox.zip
Step:3 Start the Virtual Box and Create new VM
Assign the RAM as per your Hardware , in my case I am assigning 1 GB RAM to Chrome VM
Click On Next
Step:4 Select ‘Choose an existing virtual hard drive‘
Choose the Virtual hard drive that we have downloaded and Click on Create
Step:5 Now Configure Network Adapter of Chromium VM
Configure the network adapter for Chromium VM if it is not configured
Step:6 Now Start the Chrome OS , by Clicking on Start Button
When you start Chrome OS, the mouse won’t work. To make it work, click the Machine menu and select the Disable Mouse Integration option.When we start the Chrome OS VM first time , then below screens will come….
Click on Continue
Enter Your Gmail credentials
Choose Picture and Click on OK
Welcome Screen of Google Chrome OS :
This new interface provides a Windows 7 style taskbar & window management. Applications can run in separate windows, there’s a special app launcher, a system tray settings pop-up, a dedicated Downloads window and many more.
