How to Install Google Earth on Ubuntu 16.04 / Linux Mint 18
Hello Techies, Recently Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Linux Mint 18 has been released and if you have switched to any of these Desktop level operating system and wondering how to install and use Google Earth on it.
Refer the following steps to install Google Earth on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Linux Mint 18.
Step:1 Downlad the latest verison of Google Earth from its official Site.
Access the following url from the web broswer, download the debian package depending upon on your system architecture.
https://www.google.com/earth/download/ge/agree.html
Step:2 Install Google Earth Debian package using dpkg command
Open the terminal and run the following commands
nextstep4it@cloud:~$ cd ~/Downloads/ nextstep4it@cloud:~/Downloads$ sudo dpkg -i google-earth-stable_current_amd64.deb
When we try to install google earth package using dpkg command we may get broken dependecy package errors, example is shown above. To resolve these broken dependecy errors execute the following apt command.
nextstep4it@cloud:~/Downloads$ sudo apt install -f
This command will resolve errors and will install google earth package.
Step:3 Access Google Earth Now
Click on Google Earth icon

I am a Newbie… I followed the terminal instructions to the letter and it cannot find the file or directory. Is it because it is not coming up with the nextstep4it site in terminal….? I need HELP !
