Pidgin is a chat program tool which is used for chatting on multiple chat nwtworks.It means at the same time you can with your friends on MSN, Yahoo or GMAIL. it Supports chat networks like AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, Jabber/XMPP, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE, MXit, and Zephyr.
Step by Step installation of Pidgin Chat Messenger
Open your Ubuntu Software Center as shown in below image or follow the path : Go to Applications —> Ubuntu Software Center
in search box, Just type word “pidgin” as shown in below image without double quotes.
Now click on install button, you will get a password prompt & type your user password for installation confirmation.
After installation to run pidgin chat messenger : Go to Applications –> Internet –> pidgin.
Click on pidgin, Configure pidgin and start chat with your friends over Internet.
