Grsync : Graphical rsync backup tool on Ubuntu ( 12.10 / 13.04 / 13.10)

Overview :

 

grsync is a graphical rsync tool in ubuntu linux. It provides a graphical user interface to backup or sync important files & directories to remote machine or in local machine using rsync. It currently supports only a limited set of the most important rsync features, but can be used effectively for local directory synchronization.

 

Installation of grsync on Ubuntu Linux

 

Method:1 Open the Synaptic Package Manager, search grsync as shown below :

 

Grsync : Graphical rsync backup tool on Ubuntu ( 12.10 / 13.04 / 13.10)

Select grsync and clik on Mark for installation and the Click on Apply.

 

Method:2 Open the Terminal , use below apt-get command .

 

nextstep4it@nextstep4it:~$ sudo apt-get install grsync

 

Now the take backup using grsync .

Click on grsync

 

 

In the below example we are taking the backup of “/home/nextstep4it/Downloads” folder to /opt folder.

Now Start taking the backup by clicking on button which is marked in red circle(Mark a full run(go!).

 

As you can see below, backup has been complted successfully and also show progress & output of rsync

i have a error msg when install ubuntu server 12.04 plz help me when run cmd apt-get install ubuntu-desktop show error msg in last "failed to fetch some archive
